The MidTown Story

MidTown, Inc. is a community renewal organization serving an area of over six square miles in the heart of Columbus. Radiating from Wynnton Road into six contiguous historic neighborhoods, MidTown incorporates - in addition to residential neighborhoods - schools, parks, the Columbus Museum, the Columbus Public Library, commercial office and retail districts, and the international headquarters for Aflac.

In support of community, conservation and diversity, MidTown, Inc., through education and advocacy, works to sustain and enhance the neighborhoods and businesses within MidTown Columbus.

MidTown, Inc., led by a diverse Board of Directors, embraces a broad vision and implementation strategy to:
  • Advocate MidTown Columbus as an important economic and community resource within the City of Columbus.
  • In conjunction with local and state officials and stakeholders, including residents, develop and implement a strategy to renew and sustain MidTown Columbus as a vibrant community of neighborhoods and businesses.
  • Identify and facilitate redevelopment opportunities in MidTown by working with officials, stakeholders and potential investors.
  • Create a sense of place in MidTown Columbus through branding, marketing and community organization and outreach.
MidTown grew from a small village of scattered estates established in the 1830s, to a collection of neighborhoods and commercial districts that have flourished for over 100 years. Today, MidTown attracts residents and visitors with its park-like settings, convenience, and cultural, educational and recreational amenities.

Diversity and community. Homegrown businesses that serve the neighborhood, and the world. Antebellum homes, a postmodern library.  Columbus’s history and its future. MidTown: Distinctively Columbus.
